Connie, its kid of a musician thing. We tend to make fun of each instrument, and the people who play them. There's a perception that banjo players are obnoxious, drummers are dumb, etc. There are jokes that go with virtually every instrument and the people who play them. As a synthesizer/keyboard player, I haven't heard many about my kind of musicians, although I'd absolutely love to.

Oh no! It isn't a local thing. Sharing bad musician jokes is a favorite passtime of mine and others. I've seen 'em from all over the country.
